Enhancing Lensbury Club Membership
As the grey skies clear and welcome hints of spring emerge, we wanted to share the exciting developments planned at The Lensbury this year, and the operational improvements that have either already taken place or will be introduced imminently. We would like to thank all Members for their patience while we have been working on these projects and we are delighted that the plans are now coming to fruition.
As ever, your feedback is critical to our success, so please do share your thoughts with us via feedback@lensbury.com. We want to ensure your voice is heard and that we are making the right decisions to enable you to get the most from your membership.
Private Members’ Lounge
Work is continuing apace on your new, exclusive Members’ Lounge. Alongside the extensive building work, the team is working hard on crafting the new, delicious fresh deli menu, designed for healthy and nutritious food on the go. Soon we will be engaging with the Food & Beverage Focus Group shortly to ask for their feedback.
The whole team is excited about this new offering and the step change it represents in putting members at the centre of The Lensbury experience. Further details will be shared at the beginning of April.
Members’ Terrace
As soon as the Lounge is completed, renovation of the new Members’ Terrace will commence, with the removal of the big spiral staircase and the installation of new steps and landscaping. A new planting plan, approved by our Head Gardener, Karl Smith, will enhance the area further.
Members’ Reception
Work is due to start shortly on revamping Members’ Reception, with a new curved reception desk, a retail space, new access control gates for additional security, a lobby area for guests and a smart, landscaped entrance – one you can be proud to bring guests to.
Co-Working Space
A number of companies have been invited to tender for the development of our dedicated co-working space and final plans are being drawn up. We cannot wait to provide our ever-growing laptop community with a dedicated, purpose-designed space to work from. We expect work to commence in Q2.
Access Control
Members are reminded of the importance of carrying a valid membership card and to only use the Members’ Reception, not the Hotel Reception, which for hotel guests only. With the addition of new access control gates at Members’ Reception (no more running under turnstiles!), at Lockside and in due course at Hotel Reception, The Lensbury will soon feel an even more safe, secure and exclusive place to be.
We are also reviewing access-control entrances to our tennis courts, linked with the new booking policy, which will be shared shortly. Again, this will ensure that courts are booked and used appropriately, maximising their capacity to everyone’s benefit.
Thermal Suite
Improvements to the Thermal Suite are also on the horizon, with newly-renovated sauna & steam rooms and a new cold plunge bath.
Family Changing Room Updates
From Monday 4th March until Saturday 9th March (inclusive) the Family Changing Room will be closed for improvement works. Thank you for your patience whilst these works take place to enhance this space.
Padel & Pickleball
We are close to the end of an extensive consultation period with a number of specialists regarding the proposed addition of two Padel courts and three mini red/Pickleball hybrid courts. The Lensbury sits within Metropolitan Open Land, so Richmond Council manages what may, or may not, be permitted very carefully: early indications are positive however. We will keep you informed of developments as further progress is made.
New Booking Policy – Tennis & Fitness Classes
From Monday 4th March Members will be able to book fitness classes and courts up to five days in advance rather than the current nine days.
We are trialling this new booking policy in response to Member feedback with the aim of providing Members with more opportunities to book activities, as the number of ‘no shows’ should be significantly reduced as Members will only book activities they know they can attend.
We will continue to review the booking and cancellation process to the benefit of all our Members.
Junior Squash Programme Coming Soon
We are in the process of finalising our next Junior Squash Programme which we will launch ready for the summer term.
Watersports Update
With the Watersports Centre re-opening just around the corner we have increased the number of Stand Up Paddle Boards and Double Kayaks, increasing our class numbers for Members.
